Why are you participating in the Lit From The Black! 2024 fellowship
The theatre has become my life. I should start there. In 2020, I quit my day job and jumped in as a full-time creative artist. I am an Equity Actor, Teaching Artist, Director of Youth and Adult productions, Casting Manager, and Producer. I crave learning more about my craft, and if that is mixed with the fact that I can learn from and with black women, sign me up three times. I love this opportunity to learn more and grow around my actual peers. Black women deserve to learn in spaces that feel safe and supported, and this feels like just that. This industry wasn't built for us, so it is essential to create our lanes. I would love to take the knowledge from this class to all the places I work to inspire other black women. With all that I am doing and all the opportunities given to me, there is always a way to be stronger.
