Afro Urban Society is offering an opportunity for a workshop and consultation for Black Artists with a Social Media for Marketing & PR professional who can teach us how to use social media to elevate our artist hustle, business & increase engagement. This is important for all of us in this day and age. Join us!
This interactive workshop is designed to help participants understand how to leverage public relations techniques to build trust and confidence, while developing a social media marketing strategy focused on converting fans and followers into clients and customers. Participants will engage with industry experts and one another, with the goal of developing a focused, intentional 30 day social media marketing strategy to implement on one or more platforms.

ABOUT
Dr. Marguerite Hinrichs, also know as "The PR Lady," is a native of San Francisco and graduate of the University of the Pacific, with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication (1994). She earned a Master of Science in Recreation and Tourism (2013) and a Doctorate of Education with an emphasis on Social Justice Leadership (2019), both from California State University, East Bay (CSUEB). Her dissertation study titled, "Exploring the Impact of Ethnic Studies Pedagogy on African American Identity and Empowerment in Oakland," illuminates the value of Ethnic Studies teaching and learning, through the voices and experiences of African American students.
Dr. Marguerite Hinrichs is currently a faculty member teaching two courses in the CSUEB Social Media Marketing Certificate Program - “Using Social Media for PR & Marketing” and “Writing Social Media Content” and the owner of The PR Lady & Associates LLC, a PR, marketing, and special events consulting business.
