First Friday: Sip, See & Paint (Online) | Afro Quarantine Fest
Grab your favorite relaxing beverage, your art supplies* and join artists 2AM, Creative Shields & friends in an evening of Live Painting & Music. Finished artworks by artists will be available for raffle following the online event.

2AM and Creative Shields invite you along for a virtual creative session! For one hour we will be making magic and hope you come along for the journey.
Suggested Materials:
-16 x 20 canvas (canvas pad, board, or gessoed butcher is fine )
-A basic paint set (or watercolor set)
-A basic set of brushes (or one refillable watercolor pen)
-An easel (or makeshift easel)
*These items can be picked up in-store at your local art supply stores. Be sure to call your local store before making the drive!
*You can also bring any art supplies you have laying around the spot paints & canvas that you’ve ignored for a while, pencils, pastels, crayons... and paint/color/sketch/draw along. The art will be from the heart, the playlist will be fire!
About
Aambr Newsome (aka 2A) is a Sacramento born artist that lives and works in Oakland, Ca. She is a mural-based installation based artist that assisted in restoring the SF Women’s Building, and collaborated on murals throughout the Bay Area through the True Colors Mural Project. Her political works in coalition with Political Gridlock include pro Occupy Oakland and Oscar Grant posters. She has known her work at the African American Arts and Culture Complex, Somarts, The Vortex (LA,) and has participated in the Black Woman is God. Currently, she is working on a series of pieces exploring the masking of Blackness in the Black Body.
