A weekly exploration of traditional ballet technique in a non- traditional environment for Black and Brown Bodies lead by Alyah Baker. Class series will feature stretching and strengthening, bending, balance, and release in a fun and supportive environment. Geared towards beg/intermediate and intermediate levels.
Class open to Adults 18+ with special exceptions made for mature teenagers that have consent from parents or guardian.
Please wear comfortable clothes and bring socks or flat dance shoes.

ABOUT
Alyah Baker
has trained and performed with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Joffrey Ballet of New York, Oakland Ballet, Richmond Ballet, and Carolina Ballet. In 2003 she received a B.A. in Sociology with a Dance Minor from Duke University where she trained under former Joffrey Ballet principal Tyler Walters, and Clay Taliaferro, a long time principal dancer with José Limón Dance Co., among others. She has been featured in works by Balanchine, Antony Tudor, Laura Dean, José Limón, and Alonzo King. She is currently a freelance performer working most recently with Dance Through Time and ABD Productions, and was featured in the movie PICO: Performance Indeterminate Cage Opera.
