BdA interns are part of the BdA family, serving as ambassadors, facilitating various aspects of the festival’s administrative, creative, and engagement endeavors along with other collaborators including artists, venues, volunteers, technical crew, partners, and attendees.

Interns are the backseat drivers of Bakanal de Afrique. Without you, we miss the bumps and holes in the road.

Our internships are ideal for a person looking for experience working in a small non-traditional yet professional arts and culture non-profit setting (remotely or on-ground based on events and internship area); no prior experience is required/necessary. Our internships are designed to ensure a rewarding and educational work experience while benefiting the needs of the organization. Scheduling can be flexible based on the needs of the Intern in alignment with the required deliverables and timelines of the organization.

    WHAT YOU RECEIVE

  • $250* Stipend upon successful completion of intership term or

  • Education/School credit (where applicable)Connection to digital creative space for internship duration

  • Complimentary or discounted attendance to shows, workshops, and events produced by AUS and/or AUS Partners

  • Professional referrals to resources and artistic organizations in the Bay Area and Beyond

  • Connection to a network of arts, creative and activism based practitioners

  • Professional and peer mentorship and referrals to professionals in the field to support your artistic and career development
